Mount Blanco
This project began as a UX/UI mini-assignment to create a single-service app specifically designed for users with dyslexia. I decided to expand the scope and develop a comprehensive ski resort application that would enhance the mountain experience while maintaining accessibility for all users.

Background
The app's primary focus was customization, beginning with a thoughtfully designed onboarding process that allows users to tailor their experience. To ensure accessibility for users with dyslexia, I implemented clear typographic hierarchy, bold sans-serif fonts, and concise content throughout the interface.
Process
My design process started with a fundamental question: As a newcomer to both skiing and resort experiences, what features would be most valuable to me? To ensure the app would meet real user needs, I conducted research in skiing and snowboarding forums to understand what existing users expected from resort applications.
This user-centric approach, combining my perspective as a potential new user with insights from experienced winter sports enthusiasts, helped shape the app's core features:
Interactive resort map showing ski lift locations and routes
Digital season and daily passes with QR code functionality
Real-time performance tracking for skiing and snowboarding runs
Group location sharing for mountain safety
Emergency SOS floating button for quick access
Lesson booking system with integrated payment processing
Skill-level filtering for slope difficulty
Color Palette:
I approached the color selection with intention, choosing a palette that would reflect the natural environment of a ski resort:
Primary: Black and white as traditional, foundational colors
Secondary/Accent: Light blue to echo the crisp mountain atmosphere
This color scheme not only creates visual harmony with the real-world setting but also ensures excellent readability and contrast for all users.
Final Thoughts
This project reinforced the importance of understanding your users' needs and pain points when designing digital solutions. By putting myself in the shoes of a newcomer and validating assumptions through community research, I was able to create an app that serves both beginners and experienced users effectively.
This approach to user-centered design has become fundamental to how I approach new projects, always ensuring that features and functionality align with real user needs and expectations.
